1. Ancient Egyptians carved Amazonite into funeral jewelry used to guard the body and soul.

3. Pre-Columbian Central and South American civilizations used it in carving and ceremonial items associated with ritual exchange and sacred cycles.
Lore:
1. Early European explorers came up with the name Amazonite because they believed that green stones were associated with Amazon women warriors.
2. It appeared in burial jewelry in Egypt because they associated it with protection during transition.
3. The color blue is associated with the throat and communication, and the color green is associated with the heart and emotions.
